No matter when they leave us, it’s always too soon.
Our beautiful sweet Memo is no longer with us.
She passed away this morning due to GDV.
(Gastric-Dilation-Volvulus, colloquially known as BLOAT.)
Not all veterinarians realize that this can be a problem in Basset Hounds. Know the symptoms: distress, distended and painful abdomen, difficulty breathing, excessive salivation, and retching without vomiting. Time is of the essence, bloat is often fatal within hours.
